John Herndon composed this relatively short, playful piece with the young intermediate keyboard percussionist in mind. Each movement is two and a half minutes or less.
The first movement, Little Leviathan, portrays the playfulness the massive, mythical sea beast may have had as a youngster. The second movement uses syncopation to paint a picture of a baby Behemoth running and jumping about its legendary home.
The optional downloadable audio accompaniment adds complexity and depth to the piece’s sound, making it a potential hit with middle school band concert audiences.
